Senior camogie side beaten by impressive Cork

Sat, 6th July 2019

DUBLIN 0-9 CORK 2-20

Cork showcased why they are the reigning champions hen defeating Dublin by 17 points in Saturday's All-Ireland senior camogie clast at Parnell's, Coolock.

The Rebels began with intent and led by 14 points at half-time before Dublin improved in the second period.

A Linda Collins goal helped Cork into a 1-6 to 0-0 lead inside just 12 mintues.

Dublin were more competitive in the second half with subs Alex Griffin, Aoibhe Dillon, Siobhan Kehoe and Ellen McGovern improving matters in attack for the Dubs.

Dublin's first score of the contest came in the 16th minute when Aisling Maher was on target.

But Cork responded strongly with Amy O'Connor hitting their second goal on their way to opening up a commanding 14-point interval advantage.

However, Dublin restarted the second half impressively two points from a Ali Twomey and another from Orla Beagan.

But the Dubs left themselves with far too much to do with Cork wrestling back momentum during the second half to run out comprehensive winners.
