Templeogue Synge Street enhanced their promotion prospects as they eased past Trinity Gales by 4-10 to 0-7 in their Go-Ahead Dublin Adult Football League Division 3 encounter at Drumnigh on Wednesday evening.
The bulk of the damage was done by half-time as the visitors enjoyed a healthy 3-5 to 0-2 interval advantage and they maintained their control upon the restart with Niall Scully in exceptional form for Synger.
Bruce Waldron, Ger Holian, Conor McKiernan and Cathal Murphy were others to figure prominently for the visitors, and with Luke O’Brien plundering a brace of goals, they pulled way thanks to further goals by Killian O’Gara and Scott McConnell.
There was another away victory in Naul as St Anne’s delivered an exceptional attacking performance to defeat Clann Mhuire by 4-20 to 0-12.
Scott Fulham was in sparkling form for the visitors with his personal tally of 1-8 over the hour including just a solitary point from placed balls.
Darragh Fulham also shone up front when accumulating 1-4 from open play while Matthew Murphy and Kian Donnelly also added goals for the Bohernabreena outfit.
Luke Perry (0-3) and Jamie O’Neill (0-2) ensured that St Anne’s reflected their dominance on the scoreboard with their scoring completed by points from Jack O’Neill and Shane McKeown.
That victory ensured that St Anne’s finish the season of 22 points, and they share second spot in the table alongside Templeogue Synge Street, Na Fianna and St Margaret’s.
St Margaret’s were pushed all the way before edging Cuala by 1-17 to 3-10 at home while Na Fianna put themselves in an excellent position by virtue of their 1-12 to 0-8 away win at league winners Naomh Fionnbarra.
The foundation for their victory lay at the back through the excellent individual performances of Hugh Caffrey, Eoin Connolly and Sean Hayes and with Richie Cooper netting the only goal of the game, Na Fianna built up a healthy lead by full-time thanks to the scoring contributions of Sean Smith, Jack Lacey and Dan Morley.
Both Na Fianna and TSS will be promoted should they win their remaining league matches against Ballyboden St Enda’s and St Jude’s respectively.
At the opposite end of the table, Castleknock’s relegation to Go-Ahead AFL Division 4 was confirmed, despite their 1-9 to 0-10 win against St Jude’s.
In Go-Ahead AFL4, champions Clontarf finished their campaign on a perfect note as they completed their fifteenth successive win with a hard-fought 1-7 to 1-4 victory over O’Dwyer’s in Balbriggan.
