O’Toole’s continue to lead the way in Division 4 of the Go-Ahead Dublin Adult Football League as they defeated St Mark’s by 3-16 to 2-7 at Blunden Drive on Sunday morning.
The youthful home attack caught the eye throughout with corner-forwards Luke Gifford kicking 1-6 while Paddy Smith added an impressive 1-4.
The more seasoned Andy Morris added 1-2 from centre-forward as the Larriers overcame a sloppy start to ease home with corner-back Karol Elliott and midfielders Eoghan D’Arcy and Ciaran Brabazon in fine form.
There was another home win in Ballyogan as Geraldine P. Moran preserved their unbeaten start with a 2-9 to 1-7 win against St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh.
Despite a bright start that yielded three points by Kevin Quinn and another Sean Hussey score, Gers were on the back foot for the large part and were indebted to goalkeeper Cormac McCabe for limiting their deficit to just 1-5 to 0-4 by half-time.
The momentum changed with a Daniel Hussey goal at the end of the third quarter and with Lochlann McCabe and Dave Lavelle starring at the back, the hosts confirmed their win through a late goal by captain Richie Barrett.
O’Dwyer’s suffered no such nerves as they enjoyed a comprehensive 2-17 to 1-2 away win over Skerries Harps.
Callum Johnson (1-5) and Cathal O’Rourke (1-4) proved a handful for the Harps defence with Darragh Keogh and Cian Carroll adding three points apiece for the Balbriggan outfit.
On Thursday evening, Swords came out on top in the battle of St Finian’s as they defeated their namesakes from Newcastle by 0-11 to 0-5 at Aylmer Road.
Full-back Jack Dempsey delivered a towering display for the winners with Adam McGuirk also hugely influential over the hour from centrefield.
James Doyle was the pick of the away attack with a lively display that included two points and with Scott Brennan adding a booming point from distance, the visitors eased home thanks to further scores by Conor Halpin, Conor Cooley, Cian McCabe, Ciaran Doyle, Andy Mallon and Killian Ryan.
