Our Senior Footballers are back in action this weekend as we take on Roscommon in our first All-Ireland group stage game at Croke Park on Saturday evening.
Dublin have had a great start to the summer, retaining the Leinster Senior Football Championship for the 14th time in a row.
The Boys in Blue were pushed all the way by Louth in the Leinster decider. The experienced duo of Con O’Callaghan and Cormac Costello led the way on the scoring front, as Dublin did enough to overcome Louth.
The focus is now on the All-Ireland series as we look to step up our defence of the Sam Maguire Cup.
Roscommon exited the Connacht Championship at the semi-final stage this year and will be looking for an improvement on that result this Saturday.
Diarmuid Murtagh demonstrated he can kick scores from open play and frees in that showing against Mayo. Daire Cregg also possesses a similar threat with his point kicking ability.
Niall Daly and Eoin McCormack are just two members of the Rossies backline looking to make life difficult for Dublin this week.
In recent years, Dublin have had the edge over Roscommon and also beat them earlier this year in the Allianz Football League, but rest assured, Roscommon will push Dublin all the way on Saturday as the championship heats up.
