PREVIEW: Dublin v Antrim- Leinster SHC

Dublin’s Senior Hurlers play their third game of this year's Leinster Senior Championship this Saturday, when they host Antrim at Parnell Park (4pm).

Dublin go into the game unbeaten after their first two games, picking up a hard-fought draw in Wexford in which we scored two injury-time goals and last time out, we secured our first win of the Championship when we left Carlow with a five-point win.

Dónal Burke, Danny Sutcliffe and Cian O’Sullivan have top scored for Dublin so far in the Leinster Championship- Burke with 0-16 (14f, 1'65), Sutcliffe with 1-04 and O'Sullivan with 1-03 (0-2f), so all three will be hoping to add to their tallies this weekend. 

Antrim competed in the Allianz Hurling League Division 1B alongside Dublin, but finished bottom of the group, losing all five league matches. 

However, when Dublin visited Corrigan Park back in February, we were pushed all the way by the hosts and Dublin only took the spoils thanks to a last-gasp goal. 

The Saffrons were taught a harsh lesson in their opening game of the Leinster Championship at the hands of Kilkenny and were beaten by a sizeable 32 points.

However in their second game, they took on Wexford and put in a performance that turned heads. They fought back from seven points down to claim a 2-22 to 2-20 win. 

Seaan Elliott and Niall McKenna were the men who got the umpires at Corrigan Park to wave green flags, with Conal Cunning racking up a personal tally of seven points. The score of the game came from Gerard Walsh, whose sideline expertly split the posts as Antrim held on to celebrate a famous and well-deserved win. 

Cunning is Antrim’s top-scorer this Championship with 0-14 from the opening two games, just two points behind Dublin’s leading scorer, Dónal Burke, who has scored 0-16 so far.

As well as his impressive showing in the first two rounds, Cunning also shot 1-10 against us in the league, so Micheál Donoghue's men will be fully aware of the threat the Dunloy clubman possesses.
