Dublin's minor hurlers make their Leinster MHC entrance against a highly-rated Wexford this Saturday at Wexford Park (3.0).
The Slaneysiders already have a championship clash under their belt when they defeated Westmeath by 15 points a couple of weeks back.
Dublin manager, Johnny McGuirk, was impressed by what he witnessed and knows his side will be in a battle this weekend.
“I had a look at Wexford last Saturday week and I was impressed with what I saw,” says Johnny.
“They are a big, physical team that move the ball around well and we’re under no illusions as to the challenge that we face.
“They will go into the game with a point to prove after what happened to them last year and having to travel down to Wexford Park is never easy at any time so we just have to knuckle down and make sure that we produce a performance that will be good enough for us to secure a positive result.
“With a fair few players available from last year, that experience should help and you would be looking for the more senior players to drive it on.
“Having said that, we are more than confident that the players that we pick on the day will possess the required temperament to perform on the day.
“It’s a massive game for us and we just want the ball to be thrown in as championship is what all the lads love being involved in," added Johnny.
