Dublin GAA Coaching & Games Workshops & Conference- January 2025

With the introduction of the new Gaelic Football rules for trial at both club and inter-county levels in 2025, Dublin GAA's Coaching & Games Development department are committed to supporting coaches and players as they adapt to these changes. 

To assist in this transition, there are several learning opportunities designed to help coaches understand and optimise their approach to the new rules. 

Registration is now open for the January Coach Development Events: 

• 1) Football Workshop: "New Rules, Same Game" with Paddy Christie

- Date: Friday, 10th January

- Venue: Sport Ireland campus

- Time: 7PM

- Details: Designed for coaches working with U13-U15 Gaelic Football players, this workshop focuses on coaching the new rules for 2025 and beyond.

• 2) Football Workshop: "The Art of Coaching the Tackle" with John Divilly

- Date: Friday, 24th January

- Venue: Sport Ireland campus

- Time: 7PM

- Details: Aimed at U13-U15 coaches, this workshop will cover 1v1 tackling, body positioning, timing, and other coaching techniques.

• 3) Dublin GAA Coaching Conference

- Date: Saturday, 25th January

- Venue: Sport Ireland campus

- Time: 9:30AM

Practical Workshops: 

Hurling Session: Delivered by Shane Keegan, UEFA Pro Licence Coach & Head of Games at Laois GAA.

Gaelic Football Session: Facilitated by Dr. Shane Mangan, Performance Analyst, Coach & Lecturer at TUD.

Keynote Speakers: 

Dr. Mark O'Sullivan – Associate Professor, Norwegian School of Sport Sciences.

Jim Gavin – 6-Time All-Ireland Senior Football Winning Manager & FRC Chair, alongside Colm Nally, Coach, Author & FRC Member.
