Dublin minor hurlers will be hoping to immediately bounce back from last weekend’s disappointment when they face Laois in Saturday’s Electric Ireland Leinster MHC quarter-final at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise (3.0).
The Dubs suffered an extra-time defeat to Wexford last Saturday but victory against Laois can keep their provincial dreams alive.
“I think it’s just a case of us bringing up our conversion rate the next day because we managed to create a good few chances against Wexford,” says Dublin manager Johnny McGuirk.
“It just didn’t happen for us in terms of scoring but we were still very close to winning and there were a few positives to take from the game.
“I thought that our defence played well and restricted Wexford and we’ll be looking to do the same against Laois on Saturday.
“As well as that, it was the first time that some of our players would have played in a match of that intensity and that can only bring them on as players.
“We had quite an inexperienced team out there against Wexford and for many it was their first taste of championship action so they should definitely learn from the experience,” adds Johnny.
Dublin have made one change to their team for this weekend with Ronan Hayes selected at right full-forward.
