U21 and minor footballers set for Championship Saturday

Wed, 13th April 2016

Dublin's under-21 and minor footballers are in Championship action this Saturday - one heading towards the 'business end' of their campaign the other just starting out.

Dublin's U21 footballers face Mayo in O'Connor Park, Tullamore (2.45) in their EirGrid All-Ireland semi-final fresh from their provincial final success against Kildare.

St Jude's Tom Lahiff who missed out on that Leinster final victory is eligible again after serving the one-match suspension he picked up following his sending off against Laois in the Leinster semi-final.

The minor footballers face Offaly in the Leinster MFC first round in Parnell Park also on Saturday (12.0).

Paddy Christie's side defeated Laois in the Leinster MFL final at the Donnycarney venue three weeks ago and will be hoping their familiarity at the venue can aid them to victory.

The Dublin minor had drawn with Cork in the Leinster League before defeating Wexford and Kildare, who were represented by two different teams in the competition, before overcoming Meath in the semi-final.
