DUBLIN 5-16 LONGFORD 1-9
Dublin’s under-16 footballers outclassed Longford in last Friday night’s Gerry Reilly U16 Football Tournament in Oldcastle, Meath.
Backed by the elements Dublin started well with a fisted point from Andrew McCaul and a free from John Foley with Sam Jones’ goal helping them to an early 1-2 to 0-0 lead.
The Dubs moved 2-4 to 0-0 clear before Longford really got settled and by the break it was 3-9 to 1-2 to the Dubs with Player of the Match, Stephen Braiden O’Byrne, grabbing the third goal.
James O’Connell’s goal put Dublin out of sight in the second half.
