Senior is what you want to win: Molly Lamb

Senior is what you want to win: Molly Lamb

Tue, 20th September 2016

Kilmacud Crokes' Molly Lamb hopes to complete her medal collection in this Sunday's TG4 Ladies All-Ireland SFC final against Cork in Croke Park (4.0).

Molly was an All-Ireland MFC medallist in 2012 and has achieved the coveted top prize at U21 level on three occasions.

“You dare to dream, I suppose. In the last three years, we’ve been U21 champions and they’ve been great occasions, especially last year when we beat Cork in a really good final, a really good game of football. That gives you a taste of it. U21 is great but senior is what you want to be winning," says Molly.

Reflecting on Dublin's titanic semi-final victory over Mayo courtesy of Sinéad Aherne's last second pointed free, Molly is hopeful that the nature of that victory will stand to the Jackies this Sunday at headquarters.

“Massive – maybe the last few years we might not have come through that.

“To come and get the result, that was good for us as a group. Semi-finals are always nerve-wracking and we didn’t want to lose at any cost.”

Dublin manager Gregory McGonigle is hoping for a big Dublin crowd to flock to Croker on Sunday to support the girls.

"I don't see any reason why the public won't come out to see the third meeting between these two top sides.

"We know we face a huge battle against Cork, but there's a quiet confidence in our camp."

Tickets for Sunday's TG4 All Ireland final Dublin v Cork are on sale now from tickets.ie and usual GAA tickets outlets
