All twelve counties in Division 1 of the Hurling League will be in action this weekend, with eight trying to reach the semi-finals and four attempting to avoid relegations. There’s also a Division 2B relegation clash on the busy schedule.

HURLING LEAGUE DIVISION 1: DUBLIN v LIMERICK
Dublin finished third in 1A while Limerick were runners-up in 1B. Dublin and Limerick meet for the second successive year in the quarter-finals, with Limerick having won by 1-25 to 0-16 last year. Dublin beat Limerick (1-17 to 1-16) in last year’s All-Ireland qualifiers. Dublin won three of five games in 1A while Limerick won four of five in 1B, losing only to Clare in the final round.

HURLING LEAGUE DIVISION 1: KILKENNY v OFFALY
Kilkenny topped Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League, winning four and losing only once – their opening game against Waterford in Walsh Park in mid-February. Offaly finished fourth in 1B, winning two and losing three games. This will be the first competitive clash between the counties since the 2014 Leinster quarter-final, which Kilkenny won by 5-32 to 1-18 in Nowlan Park.

Galway won one, drew two and lost two of five games while Cork lost all five games. The Galway v Cork clash in the first round produced a 1-27 to 1-21 for the Tribesmen, with Joe Canning (0-9), Niall Burke (1-2) and Davy Glennon (0-4) scoring 1-15 between them. Patrick Horgan was Cork’s top scorer on 0-9. Galway also beat Cork in last year’s championship by 2-28 to 0-22 while Cork won the Allianz League clash between the counties last year by 2-17 to 0-20.

HURLING LEAGUE DIVISION 1: KERRY v LAOIS
The winners will play Westmeath to decide who plays in 1B and 2A next year. Laois survived in 1B last year, beating Antrim in a relegation play-off, while Kerry were promoted from 2A.
Laois and Kerry met in the first round of this year’s Allianz Hurling League when the Kingdom won by 1-23 to 2-14 in Portlaoise. Kerry led by 1-11 to 1-10 at half-time before stepping up a gear in the second half to run out comfortable winners. Kerry also beat Offaly while Laois lost all five games.
