Dublin defender Sinéad Finnegan is hoping the hours of selfless dedication pays off when the Jackies face Cork in this Sunday's TG4 Ladies All-Ireland SFC final in Croke Park (4.0).
The Jackies last won the Brendan Martin Cup in 2010 and since then the Rebelettes have dominated, defeating Dublin in the last two finals.
The Fingallians defender is dreaming of Dublin glory this weekend.
"I was watching Tipperary win the hurling and Kilkenny winning the camogie. It just looks like the most incredible thing that you could ever achieve.
"That may sound cringey. After all, it's just a match, it's just sport. But you put in so much work. You start out in November. You put your life on hold."
If the Dubs are to succeed they must beat the best and most experienced team in the land.
"They are a fantastic team," says Sinéad of Sunday's opponents. "They have been a credit to the sport. But we are really happy to be playing Cork. If you want to win the All-Ireland you want to beat the best."
