Meath vs Dublin

Dublin managers Derek Murray and Paul Casey have announced their squad for this Saturdays eagerly awaited opening round fixture of the TG4 Leinster championship, Dublin versus Meath.

The last championship meeting between the two sides was the 2024 provincial final at Croke Park. On that occasion Dublin emerged victorious on a score line of 3-17 to 0-08 to win their 11th Leinster SFC title in succession.

Eight players who started that Croke Park encounter are included in Saturdays starting fifteen, Abby Shiels, Jess Tobin, Leah Caffrey, Niamh Donlon, Martha Byrne, Caoimhe O’Connor, Kate Sullivan, Niamh Hetherton and Hannah Tyrrell. While Aoife Kane, Grace Kós and Chloe Darby featured as second half substitutes.

Dublin have named a strong bench for Saturday’s contest which includes seasoned veterans Lauren Magee and Sinéad Goldrick. Dublin also welcome back Niamh Crowley from injury.

Meath players have made no secret of their desire to add a Leinster SFC crown to their honours list. The royals are seeking to bridge a twenty-five-year gap since their last provincial championship title at senior level.
