Sutcliffe sights set on important clash with Antrim

Sutcliffe sights set on important clash with Antrim

Wed, 31st January 2018

Danny Sutcliffe says the Dublin hurlers must focus fully on this Sunday's important NHL Division 1B clash with Antrim in Corrigan Park, Belfast (2.0) and not dwell on the disappointment of last weekend's defeat to Offaly.

The St Jude's man will come into the reckoning for selection for Sunday's tie after missing the game against the Faithful County in Croke Park.

“I just wasn’t ready yet. So doing my best now to be ready and try and get involved or be available for Sunday. I just wasn’t ready for Saturday night.”

Reflecting on last weekend's action Danny says that the Dubs were not caught off guard but were well beaten by an in-form team on the night.

“There was no shock in how good Offaly were. We knew… we did our homework. We knew what they were going to bring. They put in a good performance against Kilkenny in the Walsh Cup," he says

“So it was no shock, really. But some things didn’t go well for us on the night.

"There were eight debuts there on Saturday as well. It comes quick. It’s every week. So we’re just getting ready for Sunday. That’s a big test now Sunday.”
