Round Up: Go Ahead Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 1/2 - 27th May

Ballyboden St Enda’s moved to within two points of the summit of the Go Ahead Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 1 table following their comfortable 2-22 to 1-12 win over Craobh Chiaráin in Clonshaugh on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors were always in control as they built up their lead through points by Timmy Hammersley, Adam Kelleher, Conor Dooley and Daniel Glynn with Dooley also pouncing for a Boden goal.

Robbie Mahon and Paul Ryan enjoyed a fair tussle throughout the contest as Craobh kept in the game through a lively display from midfield by Conor Ryan and 1-1 from James Finn.

However, St Enda’s never looked likely to cede their control with Sean McDonnell and Barry Maguire impressing in the away defence.

There was another away win at Tymon Park as Kilmacud Crokes dominated in the first-half en route to a merited 3-20 to 3-11 win over Faughs.

The visitors led by 2-12 to 0-6 at half-time with the foundation set by a strong defence in which goalkeeper Ben Hynes, evergreen corner-back Niall Corcoran and centre-back Tom Stakelum all showed well.

At the opposite end of the field, Brendan Scanlan seized the scoring honours with a personal tally of 2-9, 2-3 coming from play, and with Fionn Ó Ceallaigh adding 1-2, Crokes withstood some late home pressure thanks to four points by Brian Hayes and scores by Cian Ó Cathasaigh, Shane Veale, Aaron O’Toole and Andy Cullinane.

It proved a decent night for Naomh Barróg at the bottom of the table as they registered their first league of the win when accounting for Lucan Sarsfields by 1-19 to 2-12 at Páirc Barróg.

Elsewhere, Na Fianna took over top spot in the table as they edged near neighbours St Vincent’s by 3-15 to 1-19 while St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh proved too strong for St Jude’s, winning by 4-23 to 0-8.

At Russell Park, St Brigid’s cemented their mid-table position when overcoming Cuala by 0-22 to 1-12.

Paul Winters and James O’Connell made significant contributions on the scoreboard with the hosts maintaining control thanks to strong performances by Jack O’Neill, Cathal Doyle and Johnny McGuirk.

In Go Ahead Dublin Hurling League Division 2 , Raheny continue to lead the way as they recorded their ninth successive victory when beating Ballinteer St John’s by 3-21 to 0-17 at St Anne’s Park.

The hosts struck for three first-half goals through Liam Dunne, Adam McAweeney and Brian Doolan to lead by ten points at the break with Doolan enjoying an excellent hour for Raheny.

Dunne and McAweeney hit 1-6 and 1-4 respectively with Thomas Hurley landing four points from play to maintain his team’s perfect start to the year.

Naomh Fionnbarra also enjoyed a welcome victory as they edged St Sylvester’s by 1-21 to 1-18 in Cabra.

Glen Dodrill was in superb form for the Barrs, scoring fourteen points in total, five coming from open play, with Ryan Kirwan also chipping in with some valuable scores.

Karl Turner scored the home goal, with Fionnbarra prevailing by three points thanks to excellent defensive showings by Aaron Costello and Tommy O’Neill.

In Poppintree, Thomas Davis moved away from the relegation spots as they eased past Setanta by 2-22 to 0-13.

The away half-back line of Eoin Lambert, Jamie Palmer and Daire Kerr were instrumental to their team’s success, providing a platform for the likes of Kevin Ward (0-10), Davy Byrne (0-3) and Anthony Barrett (0-3) to build up a sizeable lead.

Conor Cronin chipped in with 1-1 while Sean Byrne performed well at corner-back, restricting Setanta talisman Fionntán Magibb to three points from play.
