Kilmacud Crokes continue to share top spot in the Go Ahead Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 3 table following their comfortable 4-26 to 0-11 victory over a battling St Maur’s at Silver Park on Saturday evening.

The experienced Niall Corcoran and Lúc Ó Lochlainn kept matters tight at the back for the hosts while the strong pairing of Alex Hatt and Dillon Mulligan at midfield ensured that Crokes remained on the front foot throughout.

Colm Crean and Conor Hayes impressed most up front as Kilmacud retained their unbeaten record to date, winning seven and drawing two of their matches.

They are joined in top spot by a Naomh Mearnóg team that were pushed all the way before eventually getting the better of a brave Crumlin by 1-27 to 2-18 at Pearse Park.

The visitors trailed by four points at the interval but regrouped well upon the restart thanks to five unanswered points to gain the initiative while goalkeeper Bobby Smith made a superb save ten minutes from time to preserve his team’s narrow lead.

Shane Kavanagh played a key role for Mearnóg, scoring 0-14 in total, ten of which coming from placed balls, while Joey Kinnane shone at corner-forward, adding 1-3 from play.

Centre-back Tommy Kinnane also chipped in with 0-2 with the likes of Chris O’Sullivan (0-3) and Chris Farrelly (0-2) ensuring the Portmarnock side remain in the hunt for league honours.

Elsewhere, Bray Emmets cemented their position in mid-table as goals by Rory Lambe, Padraig Doyle and Andy Conway, alongside nine points from Christy Moorhouse saw them defeat Cuala by 3-21 to 0-18.

In Division 4 of the Go Ahead Adult Hurling League, matters are similarly tight at the top as Na Fianna continue to hold a two-point advantage over St Vincent’s following their respective victories over Lucan Sarsfields and St Brigid’s.

At the 12th Lock, Eoin Flaherty a match-winning 2-9 as Na Fianna defeated Lucan Sarsfields by 2-21 to 0-13.

Peter Mongey, Eoghan Heeney and Odhrán Ó Maoiléidigh impressed in a defensive capacity while Sean Ryan alongside Flaherty proved a constant nuisance for the home defence.

At Páirc Naomh Uinsionn, St Vincent’s made light of being reduced to fourteen players as they defeated St Brigid’s by 4-18 to 1-10.

The hosts enjoyed a 2-9 to 1-4 interval lead with the goals coming through Alan Moore and John Walsh and they piled on the pain after the break through further goals by Moore and Aaron O’Brien.

Tom Hunter impressed throughout for the winners, who eased home thanks to four points by their influential debutant Ken Ryan.

Elsewhere, St Mark’s confirmed their mid-table position as they edged St Peregrine’s by 2-18 to 2-15 at McGee Park.
