ROUND-UP: Go Ahead Adult Football League Divisions 3 & 4- 5th March

Goals proved key at Farnham Drive as Erin’s Isle defeated Trinity Gaels by 2-8 to 0-10 in their Go Ahead Dublin Adult Football League Division 3 encounter on Sunday morning.

Mark Victory led the way with a personal tally of 1-4 as the hosts kept their noses in front through a Stephen Kane goal.

Lorcan Finnegan and Curtis Mullins impressed throughout for Isles, who held on thanks to further scoring returns from Conor Berigan and Glen Duggan.

Naomh Barróg lead the way at the summit of the table following their 5-11 to 2-7 victory away to Naomh Fionnbarra.

Ryan Alexander and Finn Alexander provided a superb platform for the winners at centerfield while Bradley Lyne was the pick of a resolute Barróg defence.

Matthew Nolan top scored with 2-3 with Sean McHugh and Emmet Mythen accruing 1-3 and 2-0 respectively as the visitors cemented top spot alongside St Anne’s and Ballyboden St Enda’s.

Na Fianna remain a point behind the top three as they enjoyed a comfortable 2-18 to 1-6 win over O’Toole’s at Blunden Drive.

The damage was done in the first-half as Adrian Neville and Conor Dolan netted for the Glasnevin side with Dolan showcasing his talents with some excellent points from distance.

The Larriers netted early in the second-half to enhance their comeback prospects but Na Fianna pulled way by the end thanks to points from Shane O’Gorman, Cian Grew, Gareth Ryan and Eoin Connolly, with Richie Cooper enjoying an influential morning at midfield for the away side.

In Division 4 of the Go Ahead AFL, St Finian’s Newcastle picked up their first league win of 2023 as they registered a 4-8 to 1-9 home win against Castleknock.

Sean McCarthy proved a handful for the away defence throughout, finding the net on two occasions for a St Finian’s outfit that maintained their control through strong displays from Garret Scanlon, Con McCarthy, Richard Scott and Josh Aherne.

At Dolphin Park, Clann Mhuire continued their impressive start to the year when overcoming Templeogue Synge Street by 3-12 to 1-8.

The sides were deadlocked at 0-7 to 1-4 at the break but the visitors seized control upon the restart thanks to excellent performances from the likes of Cathal Magee, John Reynolds, Ciaran Rooney, Ronan Reilly and Calum McCoy.

Steven Rogers also impressed as he finished with 1-5 to his name while Adam Rogers (0-3) and Eanna Reynolds (1-0) ensured a second successive win for the Naul outfit.

They are joined at the top of the table by St Patrick’s Palmerstown, Thomas Davis and Clontarf, who picked up solid wins against St Mark’s, St Brigid’s and Kilmacud Crokes respectively.
