They say a week is a long time in politics - well what about camogie!
In the week she was named joint captain of the Dublin senior team, Laura Twomey dislocated her knee in a challenge game and is ruled out of action for the next few weeks.
But the Naomh Mearnóg girl is made of stern stuff - why not... didn't her granddad cycle until he was 96.
From time to time, some camogie players and their parents think it wise to park their playing activities in order to focus on their studies.
Dr Laura Twomey is proof that such need not be the case having recently been awarded her PhD in the area of cardiovascular health by Dublin City University.
It's hard to imagine it but although just 26 years of age, Laura made her senior debut against Kilkenny in the championship ten years ago.
The news of her appointment as Joint Captain was a great thrill.
"I was absolutely delighted and very honoured. Excitement for the year ahead!"
