Friends of Dublin Hurling are expecting this Friday night, 22nd November to be one of their biggest nights for some time, with over 250 going to this year's 16th FODH Awards night in the Bonnington Hotel at 8pm.
It promises to be a great night, with recently crowned Go-Ahead Ireland County Champions Na Fianna present, alongside Commercials who won the Go-Ahead Ireland Intermediate title.
St. Vincents, who won the Leinster Senior Camogie Club Championship title at the weekend, will also be there.
Also present will be members of the Dublin Camogie team, who won Dublin's first National league Division 1B Title since 1983. With them will be members of the Intermediate team who added the Division 3B League title to the haul. Members of the Leinster U20 Panel of 2024 will be there along with members of the Minor Backroom team.
This year has been very good to Dublin Camogie with four players nominated for All-Stars!
Dynamic half back Claire Gannon of St. Judes picked up a first Camogie All Star for the Capital since 2017. Claire will be back on the podium next Friday as she will add the Young FODH Camogie Player Award to her 2024 haul!
=====
The 2024 recipient Hall of Fame is the great Tom Ryan of Na Fianna.
Tom has given a lifetime of service to his club, and is often seen in Páirc an Chrócaigh on match days as steward.
No job is ever too big or small for the Mobhí Road man as he will often be seen grass cutting in Na Fianna and St. Vincent's School.
These are only some of the jobs one might see Tom doing.
Walk into Parnell park and you will be met by Tom at the gate whether it is a club game or an intercounty game.
Hurling and Camogie means the world to the great man.
