Jim Gavin: If we have a repeat, we’ll make life difficult for ourselves

Jim Gavin: If we have a repeat, we’ll make life difficult for ourselves

Tue, 27th March 2018

Dublin manager Jim Gavin knows his side will have to be at their best if they are to emerge victorious in Sunday's NFL1 final against Galway in Croke Park (4.0).

The counties met last Sunday week when they drew (0-13 each) in Salthill while last weekend Monaghan ended Dublin's latest unbeaten run.

Reflecting on Dublin's one-point defeat to the Farney County Jim said: “We just didn’t perform well enough. We had plenty of opportunities in the game, gave away a lot of it to Monaghan.

"If you do that to a quality side like Monaghan, they’re going to punish you

“We’ll look at what we did well and try to replicate that next week.

"Obviously there’s a lot that we’ll take from it, particularly executing the fundamentals of the game.

"Our kick-passing, hand-passing - we gave away a lot of possession which wouldn’t be to our standards," added Jim.

"If we have a repeat performance next weekend, we’ll make life difficult for ourselves.”
