Go-Ahead AHL1&2 Round-Up

St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh cemented their mid-table position when defeating Craobh Chairáin by 0-18 to 0-12 in their Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 1 clash at Martin Savage Park on Saturday evening.

The hosts led by two points at the break but improved on a sloppy display with the introduction from the bench of Denis McSweeney and Rónán Ó Broin with Pat O’Carroll and Bill McCormack also impressing for the winners.

There was another home victory at the 12th Lock as Lucan Sarsfields ended Ballyboden St Endas’ unbeaten start with a deserved 0-21 to 0-14 win.

Sean Harkness top scored for the hosts with some key scores from placed balls while at the opposite end, Johnny McCaffrey and Paul Rigney kept the visitors to a manageable total.

Goals from Sean Mulcahy and Mark Sweeney helped St Vincent’s continue to lead the way at the top of the table as they picked up their fourth win on the bounce with a 2-18 to 1-13 away win at Naomh Barróg.

At Silver Park, Na Fianna remain undefeated as they shared the spoils with Kilmacud Crokes on a scoreline of 1-17 to 2-14.

Jono Treacy, Paul O’Dea and Matthew Oliver all looked sharp at the back for the visitors who were threatening up front through the contributions of Ben Gaughran, Fergal Breathnach and Aaron Jesson.

For Crokes, Aaron O’Toole notched their goal and with Michael Roche and Brian Hayes adding five points apiece, Kilmacud gained a draw through further scores by Fionn Ó Ceallaigh, Cian Mac Gabhann, Shane Veale and Alex Hatt.

The remaining games in the division went to the away team as Cuala beat St Jude’s and St Brigid’s edged Faughs, both in Tymon Park.

In Go-Ahead AHL2, Thomas Davis defeated O’Toole’s by double scores (4-18 to 2-9) in an ill-tempered encounter at Blunden Drive.

In total, five players were dismissed as the visitors seized control of matters thanks to 2-1 from corner-forward Bryan Keogh and 1-3 by full-forward Luke Dempsey.

Stephen O’Toole and Glen Brogan notched six and four points respectively while at the opposite end of the field, both Sean Byrne and Jamie Palmer were rock solid for the Tallaght outfit.

In Clontarf, Ballinteer St John’s did just enough to maintain their unbeaten start as they edged past Scoil Uí Chonaill by 0-13 to 0-11.

Iain Ó hEithir was the pick of the St John’s side, who kept their noses in front through six frees from Seamus Fenton, a brace apiece by Glen Whelan and Tom Aherne, and further scores from Ben Hyland, Daire Casserly and Liam O’Sullivan.

Ballinteer remain on the heels of both Ballyboden St Enda’s and Raheny, who picked up their fourth successive wins when defeating Naomh Fionnbarra and Erin’s Isle respectively.

Whitehall Colmcille remain in the mix following their 2-18 to 1-11 home win over Setanta with goals from Niall Carroll and Paddy Spellacy (penalty) proving key on the night.

Carroll showed well throughout as the hosts seized control through the efforts of Adam McDermott, Cian Murphy, Stephen Cassidy and Mikey Noonan.
