Dublin lost to Carlow 1-9 to 0-7 in their opening game of the Leinster MFL last Saturday in Netwatch Cullen Park.
This year Dublin have decided to enter an entirely under-17 team into the provincial competition as the minors prepare for the Leinster Championship.
The Dubs face Tipperary in their next Group 3 game in Parnell Park this coming Saturday (2.30).
Carlow led 0-4 to 0-3 and despite the best efforts of the likes of Conor Kinsella, John Foley and Dara Warnock it was the Barrowsiders who got the crucial scores in the second half.
“Days like last Saturday will stand to them and as we have a large enough panel, it’s great to give all the players opportunities to play at this level and experience putting the Dublin jersey on,” says Dublin U17 manager Frank McNamee
“Some of our players would have played in the Gerry Reilly Tournament last year and playing in the Leinster Minor League will further their development. “
