Dublin GAA Juvenile update : 2021

Dublin GAA Juvenile update : 2021

Thu, 19th November 2020

A Rúnaí, a chara,

I want to update you on our plans for the 2021 season as I am conscious many Clubs/Teams are beginning to focus on goals for next year.

At this stage of the year Bord na nÓg would typically have issued the draft juvenile fixture calendar for the following year. It is not possible at this point to circulate this year because of proposed changes nationally to the Development Squad activity / Talent Academy fixtures for 2021. Once these date including Inter-County Minor U17 activity are confirmed Bord na nÓg in conjunction with CCC1 & CCC2 will issue the 2021 Juvenile Master Fixture Calendar timetable.

As is customary I will be seeking 2021 Football Entries covering the age-grades U8 to U16 by the middle of December ( Hurling Entries in January 2021).

CCC2 would like to reconfirm the following information which applies to the 2021 season as previously issued to you.

U16 competitions in both codes

  • Single Round League
  • Group Round Robin Championship format

U15 competitions in both codes on Sundays as normal

  • League - Single or Double round depending on dates available
  • Féile Group Round format over multiple weekends – 8 teams per Division
  • All teams will have the opportunity to take part in National Féile tournaments – 4 dates in total with 2 per code
  • Féile is permanently moving to the U15 age grade.

U14 competitions in both codes

  • Double Round League
  • On receipt of 2021 Entries, Divisional grading will be a combination of self-grading feedback and U13 grading League performance on games played in 2020

U13 competitions in both codes

  • Grading Leagues followed by a League (single round)

CCC1 are proposing no changes to the format of its programme for 2021

U12 competitions in both codes

  • Grading Blitz games followed by League (single round)

Under 8 to Under 11 Go Games

  • In line with previous years

I hope the above information is helpful as Club Officers plan for the 2021 season and in particular, consider what team entries to make for next year.

Stay Safe

Yours in Sport,

Damian
