You have to be on song for every game: Jim Gavin

Mon, 25th February 2019

Following Saturday night's FL Division 1 victory over Mayo in Croke Park Dublin manager Jim Gavin immediately turned his focus onto the next opponents.

The Dubs face Roscommon in Dr Hyde Park this coming Sunday (2.0) as competition heats up.

Dublin and Roscommon last played in August when the boys in blue prevailed in a high-scoring All-Ireland SFC quarter-final Group 2 Phase 3 game in Croke Park.

The Dubs prevailed 4-24 to 2-16 with Cormac Costello hitting 0-9 (0-2f, 0-1 '45') before being replaced by Paddy Small in the 44th minute.

Dublin's goal-scorers that day were Eoghan O'Gara, who tallied 2-2 in total, Paul Flynn and Michael Darragh Macauley.

“Our concentration now is on Roscommon, and trying to get a performance there," said Dublin manager Jim Gavin.

“It’s going to be a really tough game down there, and that’s just where our focus is and we’ve just taken it one game at a time, as we always have in the previous seasons.

“Games have gone with us or against us. It’s a really competitive league and you have to be on song for each of the games.”
