Dublin minor football manager Tom Gray praised his squad for the improvements they made from their opening round display to last Saturday’s Leinster MFC quarter-final victory over Longford in Parnell Park.
“We expected a battle having watched Longford earlier in the year and they just didn’t do themselves justice on the day,” says Tom.
“They (Longford) are a much better team that what they showed on Saturday but our lads showed that they have made great improvement from the last day.
“We asked for improvements on the kick-out and we asked them to really put the shoulder to the wheel in the second-half, even though the result was pretty much assured at that point.
“They did that and finished the game well so we are quite happy from that point of view.
“You would always like to have a much tougher game but we just wanted to get through this match and show improvement in certain areas and that’s what we managed to do.”
Dublin, Kildare, Louth and Wexford are into the Leinster MFC semi-finals which take place after the Leaving Cert exams.
