We are heading to Lion’s Den: Cuala’s Mattie Kenny

Cuala manager Mattie Kenny knows his men will have to be fully focussed for this Sunday’s Leinster Club SHC semi-final against Carlow’s St Mullin’s in Netwatch Cullen Park (2.0).

“We are fully aware of the challenge that awaits us on Sunday,” says Mattie. “We know how tough it will be playing against a team that had a very impressive win in the last round (over Westmeath’s Raharney).

“They have what in essence is a home game for them and they’ll be looking to make Cullen Park as difficult a place for us to play in.

“We have massive respect for the opposition and there’s no question that we have to be on top of our game to come through.

“St Mullin’s will be looking to create a tough atmosphere for us and they should receive great support from all hurling people in Carlow.

“We saw what happened with Mount Leinster three years ago and they’ll see no reason why history can’t be repeated this year.

“They are a proud team and representing their county in Cullen Park will mean a lot to them so it’s crucial that we’re as well prepared as we possibly can be for the match.

“We’ll be looking to organise as much support and followers as we possibly can from the club but we’d also encourage any hurling fan from all the clubs in Dublin to come and offer their support.

“We are heading down into the Lion’s Den to represent Dublin and any help we get in terms of support would be appreciated,” adds the Cuala boss.
