A Seán Gray-inspired Whitehall Colmcille were crowned Dublin U21HC 'B' champions following their 5-19 to 0-14 victory over St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh in Chanel last Saturday afternoon.
Whitehall dominated the opening 20 minutes and rocked their opponents with five goals during this period and by the interval they held a 5-6 to 0-11 advantage with the freetaking of Eimhin Walsh, who converted 11 deadballs over the hour, keeping the Dublin 7 side in contact.
Gray though was the outstanding hurler on show as his personal tally of 2-13 (2-6 from play) seeing his side to victory with the likes of Cormac Ryan and Niall O'Donnell also to the fore.
In the U21HC 'C' final two goals from former Dublin minor footballer, Rutherson Real, saw Raheny edge out Ballyboden St Enda's 2-6 to 0-11 in Alfie Byrne Park.
Real's first half goal helped Raheny to a 1-5 to 0-4 interval lead with Simon Deignan and Eoghan Smyth impressing for the northsiders.
Real's goal early in the second half put Raheny seven points up as Boden paid a heavy price for 11 second half wides despite the best efforts of Fergal Murray, Conor McHugh and Cian Mellett.
