Two changes to senior football team for duel with Mayo

Two changes to senior football team for duel with Mayo

Fri, 31st January 2020

Dublin have made two changes in personnel for Saturday's FL Division 1 meeting with Mayo in Elverys MacHale Park, Castlebar (7.0).

The Dubs opened their league campaign with an entertaining draw with Kerry last weekend and manager Dessie Farrell has altered his starting 15.

Rory O'Carroll is named at left full-back while Paul Mannion comes into the forward division. The Kilmacud Crokes clubman had originally been selected to start against the Kingdom in Croke Park last Saturday but was replaced before throw-in by Conor McHugh.

Dublin beat Mayo twice last year, winning their league clash by 1-12 to 0-7 and the All-Ireland semi-final by 3-14 to 1-10. Mayo are seeking their first win over Dublin in league or championship since the 2012 All-Ireland semi-final. Since then Dublin have won 12 and drawn three of the 15 meetings between the counties.

Opponents Mayo have made four changes to their starting 15 from their draw with Donegal.

Robbie Hennelly, Michael Plunkett, Kevin McLoughlin and James Durcan have been named to start with David Clarke, Tom Parsons, Bryan Walsh and Brian Reape replaced.

The curtain-raiser on Saturday is the Ladies FL Division 1 clash of Mayo and Dublin (5.0).
