St Sylvester’s were crowned Dublin U15 ‘A’ football champions last weekend when they defeated Ballyboden St Enda’s 2-12 to 1-8 in a high quality decider at O’Toole Park.
Seán Guiden, son of former Dublin senior Niall, was the scoring star for the Malahide boys as his 1-5 (including one free) helped to separate these talented sides.
Their goalkeeper Simon Murphy also stood tall among their heroes as he pulled off a number of top saves.
Syls made the best of starts and by the break led 2-7 to 1-4. The first goal came in the fifth minute when Darragh McLoughney flicked a Jack Boyne delivery into the danger zone into the Boden net.
Boden, though, responded well with a brilliant Conor Lowe goal high to the net.
However, a Guiden strike somehow found its way to the net shortly after as Syls regained the upperhand.
Both sides gave their all until the final whistle with Syls better opening half ensuring them of victory.
