DUBS STARS 3-18 DUBLIN 2-13
Danny Sutcliffe and Fionn O Riain Broin led the way as the Dubs Stars defeated Dublin in the annual Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars hurling challenge at Chanel, Parnell’s on Thursday afternoon.
Sutcliffe clipped five points from play while O Riain Broin chimed in with an impressive 2-4 (0-1 ‘65’).
The Dubs Stars led 1-13 to 1-3 at the break having taken advantage of the wind in the opening period.
The Dubs Stars opened up an early 0-4 to 0-1 lead before Aodhán Clabby goaled for the Dubs to bring the sides level.
Approaching the interval O Riain Broin raised a green flag to put his side into a commanding half-time lead.
Paul Winters’ penalty early in the second half ignited a Dublin revival as they drew within four points for their opponents.
However, goals from Shane Stapleton and O Riain Broin’s second saw the Dubs Stars to victory.
