DUBLIN SFC1 QUARTER-FINAL
ST JUDE’S 0-11 ST VINCENT’S 0-4
St Jude’s kept their dreams of a first Dublin SFC title alive when seeing off the challenge of St Vincent’s in Saturday evening's quarter-final at Parnell Park.
Jude’s led by two points at the break and kicked six unanswered points on the restart to wrap up victory.
The southsiders were the more cohesive team once they settled and were full value for their victory, their greater intensity and work-rate plus their pressure on the Vincent's kickouts paying dividends.
The Marino men failed to score in the second period until Joe Feeney kicked just their fourth point of the contest in the 59th minute, sub Feeney was dismissed before the finish by ref James King.

Jude’s opening four points of the second period were all frees as Niall Coakley and Pádraic Clarke (three) made it 0-9 to 0-3.
Kevin McManamon then added two scores, the first after great link play and movement, to see Jude’s cruise eight points up, 0-11 to 0-3.
St Jude’s led 0-5 to 0-3 at the break as both sides were guilty of squandering good scoring opportunities.
In the second minute a ball across the square from Tomás Quinn was pulled wide on the left by Seán Lowry.
A minute later Gavin Burke got the opening point of the contest when he covered great ground to link up with Quinn before firing over an excellent score.
Quinn angled over from on the right following a good long delivery from Seán Lambe to make it 0-2 to 0-0 inside six minutes.
However, the Marino failed to score again for almost 20 minutes and missed a second goal opportunity when Jude’s keeper Paul Copeland parried Lowry’s palmed effort, from a Adam Baxter centre, out of a ‘45’.
Jude’s failed to score until the 13th minute when Kevin McManamon found his range, after two earlier misses and a shot into Michael Savage’s hands.
A fine Ronan Joyce point, following good vision from Mark Sweeney, and a Pádraic Clarke free, after a foul on McManamon, put Jude’s 0-3 to 0-2 ahead.
Diarmuid McLoughlin arrowed over to extended Jude’s lead before Adam Baxter boomed over a point for Vins in the 25th minute, their first since the sixth minute.
Before the interval Tom Devlin was very assured in his finish to give the southsiders a two-point interval lead.
