Mark Coughlan and Barrai O Leidhin were the scoring heroes for Kilmacud Crokes as they defeated Setanta 1-16 to 0-14 in Sunday's Dublin SHC 'B' final at Parnell Park.
Coughlan grabbed the only goal of the contest in the 41st minute and the day with 1-2 to his credit while O Leidhin compiled five crucial points, all from play.
The opening exchanges were evenly balanced before Crokes concluded the half on the up with scores from O Leidhin, Donal McGovern, Coughlan, Conor Sheehan and Lorcan McMullan to open up a 0-11 to 0-4 lead by half-time.
However, Setanta rallied in the second half with points from Gearóid Magner, Eric O Falluin, Jason O Buachalla and Seán O Riain to reduce the gap to just four points.
But Coughal struck for the all-important goal with less than 20 minutes remaining and despite scores from Magner (two) and Dean Memery Crokes held out courtesy of late points from Matthew Geraghty and Coughlan.
In the IHC Finals St Vincent's came with a sprint finish to defeat St Peregrine's 1-15 to 2-9.
The Marino men outscored their opponents 0-8 to 0-1 down the home straight to claim victory.
The Blakestown Road outfit, however, held sway in the opening half and led 2-6 to 1-5 at half-time with their goals coming from Brian Kelleher and Mark Sweeney.
But it was sub Niall Brennan who ignited Vinnies scoring surge that brought them success when he struck two points as Shane Kiernan, Dermot Kinahan also got in on the scoring act to edge Vincent's in front.
However, it still took some last-ditch heroics from Vincent's keeper James Daniels when denying Joe Fitzmaurice ensure his side prevailed.
