It was a Dublin SHC ‘A’ debut to remember for Setanta when they defeated Parnell’s 3-18 to 3-5 in their Group 4 opener at Clonshaugh on Thursday night.
Parnell’s had two men sent off, one player in either half, and trailed by 11 points at the break.
Dónal Breathnach pounced for their first goal while the freetaking of Seán Ó Riain ensured them of a commanding half-time lead.
Parnell’s improved in the second period but the concession of goals to Lúcás Ó Ceallaigh and Jason O’Callaghan saw Setanta run out convincing winners.
