Senior Footballers there to support World PH Day

Four of our Senior Footballers John Small, Michael Fitzsimons, Cian O'Sullivan and Jonny Cooper were out in Stephens Green yesterday (Sunday, May 8th) to support the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Ireland on World PH* day.

*Pulmonary Hypertension is a rare disease. People who suffer from PH struggle to breath every day. Our awareness theme is 'Get Breathless for PH'. We ask people to get involved in sporting activities and while they get breathless after a game, training etc - they know that this is the way patients feel all the time.

The disease is often misdiagnosed by doctors for less serious conditions like Asthma. If they don't get the correct treatment within 2.5 years they will die. Patients look well and quite often their friends and neighbours think they are lazy, unfit etc.
