Senior camogie team hoping to bridge 27-year gap

Dublin Senior Camogie manager David Herity has named his team to face Wexford in Saturday’s All-Ireland championship quarter final which takes place in Semple Stadium at 5pm.

Dublin head into the game as underdogs against a fancied Wexford team. But the girls in blue will relish that tag as they look to bridge a 27-year gap since the counties last appearance in an All-Ireland semi final.

Dublin and Wexford have built up a fierce rivalry particularly over the last number of years and the metropolitans have a good record against The Model County.

The teams last met at the start of April in the last round of the league in Innovate Wexford Park and it was David Herity’s side that prevailed on that occasion claiming a 0-16 to 1-08 victory.

The Dubs will be hoping for a similar scoreline on Saturday in what’s shaping up to be an intense, tight and exciting tussle between two very evenly matched sides.
