Dublin hurlers have been hit with two fresh injuries ahead of Saturday night's Leinster SHC round-robin clash with Kilkenny in Nowlan Park (7.0).
Forwards Mark Schutte and Paul Winters have been ruled out, both shoulder injuries.
The Cuala forward Schutte only very recently returned to training after missing out on the entire league campaign with an ankle injury.
This bad luck for both hurlers means they are added to the others previously sidelined through injury - Cian O'Callaghan, Fionntan MacGibb and John Hetherton.
Mark returned to the Dublin senior hurling setup this year after spending the past two summers with Jim Gavin's footballers.
Looking ahead to Saturday's encounter in Kilkenny Dublin manager Mattie Kenny said: "Going down to Nowlan Park in our first game is a difficult assignment.
"Every game takes on its own life. It's the first game of the Championship. League form doesn't always transcend into Championship. Championship is a completely different animal.
"We won't know the true form of teams until that first round is over."
The Dublin team will be announced this afternoon.
