Round 4 in Division 1 of the Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Hurling League took place over the past few days with the action commencing on Thursday night as Cuala defeated St Jude’s by 1-22 to 2-11 in Shanganagh Park.
The visitors impressed initially through two John Carty points and a Padraig McNally goal but the free-taking of Liam Murphy, a Paddy Egan goal and two points from midfielder Cormac Spain saw Cuala take control by the break, leading by seven points.
Darragh Malone and Michael Foley chipped in with two points apiece for St Jude’s, who played their way back into contention courtesy of a Kevin Roberts goal at the end of the third quarter.
However, Cuala would not be denied with Jamie Conroy catching the eye with five points from play while Egan (1-3), Cillian Sheanon (0-2) and Jake Malone (0-2) all added vital points for the winners.
On Saturday evening, Na Fianna scored goals at crucial times as they overcame previously unbeaten St Brigid’s by 2-15 to 0-15 at St Mobhi Road.
The foundation for the win lay in their midfield pairing of Peter Feeney and Liam Stacey while Charlie McCarthy was hugely influential when introduced from the bench in the second-half.
Shane Barrett scored both home goals, one in either half, with the free-taking duties shared by Aaron Jesson and Gavin King, who scored eleven points between them.
Lucan Sarsfields and St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh joined St Brigid’s at the summit of the table following their home victories over Naomh Barróg and Kilmacud Crokes respectively.

In Go-Ahead Ireland AHL2, Raheny picked up their second successive victory as they accounted for Fingalliansby 3-20 to 1-15 at Lawless Park.
An excellent Ryan Coyne save kept the visitors in touch as Fingallians started brightly but Raheny gradually took control of matters with Thomas Hurley chipping in with two goals.
Ryan McGuirk added seven points for the winners, who made certain of the win thanks to three Mark Murphy points and a third goal by Liam Synnott.
