RIP Denis Mahony: Former Dublin Footballer / County Board Chairman

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family & friends of the late Denis Mahony.

Denis 'Danno' Mahony was a Dublin footballer in the 40's & 50's, and won an All-Ireland with the Dublin Minors in 1945. At Senior level, Denis won 2 National Leagues & captained Dublin in the 1955 All-Ireland Final against Kerry. In 1958 Denis became the youngest ever Chairman of the Dublin County Board.

Denis also experienced great success with his club, St Vincent's.

He won 8 Dublin SFC titles, including seven in-a-row. He also won a Leinster SFC with his team. Later in his life Denis became the president of St Vincent's.
