Dublin's Senior Footballers get their Championship summer up and running at Croke Park this Sunday, as they take on Meath in the quarter-finals of the Leinster Championship (4.30pm).
Match tickets are available here.
The game forms part of a triple header, alongside the Very Camogie League Division 1A and 2A Finals.
Dublin recovered well from two defeats in the first two rounds of the Allianz Football League and ultimately reached the league final, pushing Derry all the way to a penalty shootout, before losing on spot kicks.
Despite heartbreak in the league final, there are plenty of positives to take into a big summer of football and a mix of experienced Dublin panel members and fresh faces to the Sky Blue jersey made the step up and helped us on the way to the league final.
Meath, meanwhile, will be looking to kick on in this Championship, after finishing fifth in Division 2 picking up two wins, two draws and three losses.
They got their Leinster Championship campaign up and running last Sunday with a 3-19 to 3-12 win over Longford, with Eoghan Frayne, James Conlon and Cian McBride all hitting the back of the net on the way to the seven-point victory.
Frayne was one of Meath’s most consistent point-scorers through their Division 2 campaign and will be looking to follow up on his solid showing of 1-5 against Longford this weekend against Dessie Farrell’s Dublin. Matthew Costello and Sean Brennan will also be ones Dublin need to watch.
Con O’Callaghan and Colm Basquel were just two of the experienced players who helped Dublin to that final against Derry.
Cian Murphy, Killian McGinnis & Seán Bugler were a handful for the opposition in the league, with Murphy fitting in well at the back whilst McGinnis and Bugler impressed in the forward-line.
Games against Dublin and Meath have a long and varied history since our first meeting in Leinster back in 1894, when the two met in the provincial final, which Dublin won after a second final replay.
Dublin have won 39 times, lost 19 times and drawn eight times with the Royal County in championship settings.
Meath last beat Dublin in the semi-final of the 2010 Leinster Senior Football Championship.
Dublin have won the Delaney Cup 62 times and our mission to retain our provincial title begins this Sunday.
