Dublin head to 2024 All-Ireland champions Armagh this weekend in search of a third league win of the year, as Dessie Farrell’s men look to continue their good form on Saturday evening at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds (7.35pm).
Despite a second round loss in Donegal, Dublin's start to the season has been a positive one, with three wins to show for their league campaign so far: an opening-day win over Mayo, a memorable comeback in Tralee against Kerry and a win last weekend over Derry.
Seán Bugler has been a major influence in the Dublin attack and played his part again last weekend, leading the Dubs on the scoring front with six points for himself.
Dublin found the net in the 22nd minute courtesy of Niall Scully and by the break, they were leading 1-10 to 0-6.
The Dubs would turn the screw in the second-half, Conor Tyrell and Lorcan O’Dell both stuck the ball in the nets within minutes of each other after Luke Breathnach had added more Dublin points to the scoreboard.
There was also a significant contribution from Con O’Callaghan, who grabbed four points for himself, while his brother Niall also put in a well-drilled shift.
Farrell will be pleased with how faces new and old have performed throughout the league this year but will know his Dublin side must be on top form ahead of their tricky trip to Armagh this Saturday.
All-Ireland Champions Armagh take on Dublin after a somewhat frustrating league campaign so far.
Armagh’s eight-point win over Tyrone has been the only time Kieran McGeeney’s men have claimed maximum points.
They’ve been on the wrong side of the scoreline twice, at the hands of Galway and Donegal, and they drew last weekend against Mayo.
Paddy Burns was the man who grabbed Armagh’s three-pointer in that clash when his goal in the 15th minute put Armagh five points ahead and they would hold a healthy lead by the interval, 1-10 to 0-5.
Conor Turbitt, Rory Grugan and Ethan Rafferty all played their part with important scores while the reliable Stefan Campbell helped halt the Mayo tide that was threatening to sweep Armagh away in the second-half.
The likes of Burns and Turbitt, alongside a talented panel, will look to kick on after their success last year and will no doubt push Dublin all the way this Saturday.
