St Oliver Plunkett’s and Cuala will meet in this year’s Dublin SFC ‘B’ decider after both came through their respective semi-finals on Wednesday night at Parnell Park.
The final takes place next Wednesday night in Parnell Park (7.30).
Plunkett’s did it the hard way as they came back from 1-5 to 0-1 in arrears at one stage of the opening half to eventually emerge 1-14 to 1-13 victors.
A seventh minute goal from Paul Hudson gave the Tallaght side the ideal start and points from Ciarán Farrelly, Shane McGrath, Paul Hudson and Chris Sallier secure a strong lead for Thomas Davis.
However, towards the close of the opening half Plunkett’s showed signs of awakening but they still trailed 1-7 to 0-4 at the break.
Just at the three-quarter mark Conor Walsh scored a superb goal for the Navan Road outfit and they finished the stronger with Seán O’Connor’s late point securing victory.
Cuala defeated Templeogue Synge St 2-10 to 1-10 in the second semi-final.
Darragh Spillane’s first half goal gave Cuala a 1-5 to 0-5 interval advantage but three minutes into the second half Denis Bastick converted a penalty and with Niall Scully in good form Synger edged in front.
Five minutes from time Conor Mulally scrambled home a goal to give Cuala victory.
