DUBLIN 6-15 DUB STARS 0-5

(AIG Dub Stars Football Challenge)

Gregory McGonigle's Dublin side blew off their winter cobwebs on Sunday in Chanel, Coolock with an imposing display of football versus the 2014 Dub Stars.

Leinster champions Dublin ran out comfortable winners with host club idol Lindsay Peat finishing the game as top scorer with an impressive 3-02 from play much to the delight of the Parnell’s home support.

Despite the gulf on the score board the game was an entertaining encounter with Serena Hannon, Leah Caffrey, Philippa Green and Orlagh Egan all performing well for Fintan O’Curry’s Dub Stars.

Dublin’s movement and support play was exceptional for the time of year with Carla Rowe, Sarah McCaffrey, Noelle Healy and Lyndsey Davey linking up well for the blues while the aforementioned Peat was a constant source of danger on the edge of the small square.

With just five weeks to go to Dublin’s opening TESCO Homegrown NFLround clash with Peter Clarke’s Monaghan on February 1 Dublin manager Gregory McGonigle will be happy enough with this outing as a number of senior players were unavailable.
