Notes: June 23 (Camogie)

Sun, 22nd June 2014

Congratulations to Lucan Sarsfields on their superb Féile na nGael (Div 1) success at the Regional Féile na nGael in Semple Stadium on Saturday, 21 June. They beat the champions of Cork, Tipperary, Clare and Kilkenny on their way to lifting the Downey Cup. Well done to all the girls.

The strength of underage camogie in Dublin was further underlined with the victory of Faughs Celtic in the inaugural Regional Féile na nGael in Pearse Stadium Galway.  The Tymon Park crew defeated Dicksboro of Kilkenny in the final to claim the Imelda Hobbins Shield.

Well done to Raheny who were just pipped by one point 2-3 to 2-4 by Cranford, Wexford in the Div 1 Shield final at National Féile.

Tough luck on our Seniors who despite a good start were well beaten by an excellent Cork side in the Liberty Insurance Camogie Senior championship on Saturday in front of a good crowd at O'Toole Park. Seniors next game is away to Galway on Saturday 5 July.

Well done to the Premier Juniors who had a 0-15 to 0-11 win over Laois at Rathdowney on Sunday in the opening round of the championship. Premier Juniors next game is at home to Armagh on Sunday 29 June. Venue details later. Check website and Facebook.

Tough luck on the Junior A team which lost to Kerry by 4 points in O'Toole Park on Sunday. Their next game is home to Carlow on Sunday 6 July (a must win game!)

The under 16A team play Cork away in the championship on Sunday 6 July.

The under 16B team who play Meath in the All Ireland under 16B championship at a Dublin venue on Sunday 29 June. Details on website and Facebook later.

Many thanks to Naomh Brid, Ballyboden St. Endas, Erins Isle, Naomh Jude, Naomh Fionnbarra and Castleknock who provided mini games entertainment at half time during the Dublin v Cork senior championship game.

The Dublin Senior Camogie Team will be the coaching staff at this camp for girls from 8-12 years. This is a great opportunity for them to meet the girls on our top inter county team and attend a camogie specific camp.  They will receive a t shirt for taking part and get to see the All-Ireland Camogie Cup.
