Niamh Collins to captain Dub Stars selection

The Dub Stars Ladies Football team of 2015 has been revealed. As anticipated Dublin club champions Foxrock Cabinteely who had a marvellous season by winning all three domestic competitions lead the way with four players while St Brigid’s, Kilmacud Crokes, Fingallians, St Margaret’s and Skerries Harps are next with two players each.

In total 14 clubs are represented on the 2015 team as Thomas Davis, Clanna Gael Fontenoy, St Sylvester’s, Parnell’s, Clontarf, Clann Mhuire, St Maur’s and St Jude’s each provide a representative.

Niamh Collins will captain the Dub Stars leading the side out when they take on Gregory McGonigle Leinster champions, Dublin in the main event on January 3.

Collins had an exceptional season playing a pivotal role for Foxrock Cabinteely in 2015 and was highly instrumental in the south side club claiming their first provincial crown.

“Ina dhiadh sin, imreofar cluiche sinsir Réalta Átha Cliath ar a 13; 00. Céiliúradh ar leith isea í seo chun aitheantas speisialta a thabhairt do sna mná sinsir atá tar éis an méid sin a dhéanamh ar son na cúise chun Peil na mBán a chur chun cinn agus í ag dul ó neart go neart i mBaile Átha Cliath.

“Tá cead isteach saor in aisce ar an lá agus glactar le aon deontas má bhraitheann éinne fláitiúil agus reidh an t-airgead ar fad go dtí Breast Cancer Ireland”.

The Dub Stars take on the Dublin on Sunday January 3 in DCU (St Clare’s) at 1:00pm the game will be preceded by the inaugural Junior Dub Stars game which gets underway at 11:30am

The junior Dub Stars will comprise of 40 players from 31 Junior clubs from right across the County as nominated by their respective clubs.

Admission to the Dub Stars on January 3 in DCU will be free however patrons will be asked to support a bucket collection in aid of the official charity of Dublin LGFA, Breast Cancer Ireland.
