A powerful second half saw Nh Fionnbarra come from seven points in arrears at half-time to defeat Ballinteer St John's, 2-17 to 1-16, in Friday night's Dublin SHC Group 2 encounter at O'Toole Park.
St John's led 1-19 to 0-6 at the break with the goal coming in the 20th minute from Rob Aherne. The deadball accuracy of Aodhan Clabby, who finished with 0-9 (0-4f, 0-1 sideline) was also key for Ballinteer who entered the break in a strong position.
However, the Cabra men turned the game around with a superb second half showing.
Nine minutes into the second half Ryan Curley fired him Nh Fionnbarra's first goal following good interplay by Rory McGrath and the lively Ger Dodrill.
The Barrs were on top now and when Eamonn Dillon, who tallied 1-10 (0-6f, 0-1 '65') overall, found the net the northsiders were in front for the first time.
It was an advantage they defended stoutly until the finish to open their account with a valuable two points.
