Na Fianna win U21HC ‘A’ for first time

Tue, 13th December 2016

Historic times for hurling in Na Fianna  as their U21 hurlers defeated Kilmacud Crokes, 0-18 to 0-15, in last Sunday's Dublin U21HC 'A' final at Parnell Park.

This is the first time the St Mobhi Road club have been successful in the competition that finished in a flourish with their mid-week semi-final victory over St Brigid's.

Na Fianna keeper Jonathan Treacy was among their heroes as he denied both the impressive Fergal Whitely and Michael Roche in the ssecond half as Crokes threatened.

The winners finished strongly with points from Eoghan McHugh, Paul O'Dea, Colin Currie and the influential Donal Burke (free) to secure victory.

Burke (pictured), a Dublin minor of the last three seasons, tallied six points in total with Eoghan McHugh (0-3), Gavin King (0-3) and AJ Murphy (0-2) their principal scorers.
