Minor footballers host improving Wicklow in key round of games

Tue, 26th June 2018

Dublin's minor footballers will hope to keep their Electric Ireland Leinster MFC semi-final dreams alive when they host Wicklow in Parnell Park on Wednesday night (7.30).

The Dubs are in joint-second spot, alongside Offaly but ahead of them on scoring difference and having beaten them last time out, behind unbeaten Meath heading into the second last round of games in Group 1.

Dublin finished strong last time out with the freetaking and goal from sub Seán Guiden helping them to a 2-11 to 0-10 victory over Offaly in a very tight battle in Tullamore.

Luke Swan got Dublin's other goal as the Dubs came with a scoring flurry late on to run out seven-point winners.

Meath host Offaly in Navan on Wednesday night in a game that could have a big bearing also on the table.

Wicklow come into Wednesday night's game in good form after responding to their narrow opening round defeat to Offaly by drawing with Louth and then beating Westmeath with a bit to spare.

Dublin's concluding group game is away to Westmeath.
