Dublin minor footballers’ plans for this Saturday’s Electric Ireland Leinster MFC quarter-final against Wexford in Bellefield, Enniscorthy (3.0) have been hit by a spate of injuries.
Centre-forward Barra McGarry and corner-forward Seán Caffrey, who both started in Dublin’s first round victory over Offaly, have both been ruled out through injury.
Stephen Smith who missed the Offaly clash owing to injury having looked like a potential starter earlier in the season is still not back in the fray while Kevin Callaghan, one of Dublin’s best performers in the second half against the Faithful County, and Shane Howard, who kicked two points before being substituted owing to injury, are both doubtful.
“Having so many injuries certainly isn’t ideal and it’s all about scraping out a win by any manner and building on our campaign from there,” says Dublin manager, Paddy Christie
“It’s really like an All-Ireland for us on Saturday and if we can manage to squeeze through by a point, then everyone involved with the team would be delighted.”
