Minor footballers have home advantage for Leinster quarter-final

Mon, 8th May 2017

Dublin minor footballers will enjoy home advantage for their Leinster MFC quarter-final against Longford on Saturday week (May 20) in Parnell Park (3.0).

The provincial quarter-final draw took place following last weekend's qualifiers which saw Laois, Wexford and Carlow emerge to join the first round victors Dublin, Longford, Kildare, Louth and Offaly.

In the draw Dublin drew Longford, who defeated Wicklow in their first round clash.

Dublin progressed to the last eight in the province after defeating Meath after extra-time having trailed by ten points at the break.

Last Saturday in the qualifiers, Laois beat Meath by 0-11 to 0-10, having trailed 0-5 to 0-10, and Wexford defeated Wicklow by 2-14 to 3-7. Then, on Sunday afternoon, Carlow edged out Westmeath by 2-12 to 0-17.

This Saturday the Dublin minor hurlers face Wexford in their Leinster MHC semi-final in Parnell Park (3.0).
